One pixel at a time

27/07/2025

The year is 2012, Your PC for no reason on start shows you a pretty scary BIOS screen.

I know you DID NOT do anything(other than installing some MyplayCity games off the internet or play criminal case on facebook).

Being the innocent that you are, you request your dad to take you with him to this one cyber cafe guy who literally lives on the other end of town to fix this mess that you DID NOT do.

And there it is,

Your PC in safe hands yet again. I was amazed at all of the stuff he did. That guy had literally memorized a 25 char WINDOWS XP Activation Key. That alone pushed me to memorize the table of 17.

Who knew that the table of 17 would not be the only thing that he pushed me to do. I guess the ripples of it are still moving this boat of mine and ....

That is the reason why i chose to make this game, Yes.

Story

The story follows a 22 year old,
The only change of event is, This time you are the Tech Guy helping out others. A professionally unemployed Tech Guy (uh...ok..self-employed Tech Guy) who moves his soul between two things as of now.

First being, Fixing broken computers by installing Door (The latest bullshit OS in the market...That too without any lic... (oh i should not tell that part yeh) Nothing.).

I have no idea what will the second thing be beside Sleeping.

Above is the screen of when we are attending a customer, and that is their laptop. Once you are done with whatever was asked you return back to your own laptop. Which will be fullscreen without those hinges and you get to use whatever OS you had chose to install.

(PS. Do not worry, there is a polar OS too. Free and OpenSource that you can install instead of DoorOS.)

Until the first chapter, The player has to handle customer requests.
And as the story progresses i have planned out a handful of different things which are really fun and exciting. It isnt just limited to installation but, much more than it.

Artwork

I love the idea of pixel art, It allows us to do more in much small space, Specially if you are not good at it.

To be honest, i am planning on keeping the dialog system UI as a Email kinda thing and as for the laptop of each customer, I will be tweaking it to give a different vibe from each person we meet. Changing the outer hinges a couple of custom wallapapers and stuff.

Oh! if you want to submit your customer wallpaper in this, feel free to let me know.

Some of the customer profiles

I am planning on having dedicated Apps like reading a ink file (pdf) or editing a text file using Hypertext, along with other apps.

Current State

A week into this and I have hooked up the Pixel art to the game and have started on the core gameloop of Chapter 1.
currently working on the laptop lid closing animation.
